Custom Digital Images of Vintage Lithographic Postcards

Our archives hold over 1,400 vintage color lithographic images of Duluth and Superior, Minnesota’s Arrowhead Region and Iron Range, and throughout the Western Lake Superior Region. We can turn any of our vintage postcards into high-quality art prints in just about any size you need or customize them for just about any project you can imagine.

Reproduction Art Prints

To turn vintage postcards into museum-quality art prints, we begin with an image of your selection, scan it, and digitally restore it to remove dirt, postmarks, etc., repair tears and worn corners, and if necessaryeven enhance the color. This digital image is then resized to fit either a standard standard size for easy framing solutions or customize the size to your liking. The image is then transformed into a Gicleee print using Epson inkjet technology and museum-quality inks on acid-free paper. Other materials, such as canvas or even mylar, can also be used.

Essentially, we take postcards in this condition (size: appx. 4" x 6"):

Our collection includes images of historic buildings, parks, and landmarks in Duluth, North Shore towns from Two Harbors to Grand Portage, Isle Royale, South Shore towns from Superior to Ashland, and Iron Rang/Arrowhead Region towns including Hibbing, Virginia, Ely, International Falls, Grand Rapids, Cloquet, and more. We also have images capturing the natural wonder of waterfalls, rivers, lakes, and wildlife as well as the industry that shaped the region: logging, iron mining, commercial fishing, ship building, and the grain trade. And of course, images of Lake Superior and life on the lake: great steamers and ore boats, tug boats and ore docks, canals and lighthouses, and Duluth’s iconic landmark, the Aerial Bridge, both in its original form as a gondola transfer bridge to its transformation into the world’s largest lift bridge.
